Ionia Daily Sentinel, 3 May 1918

Charles A. Mathews of Portland died suddenly in his chair of heart failure.  He
was 69 years of age and a brother of John B. Mathews.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Portland Cemetery.]
