                 EARLY RESIDENT PASSES AWAY OCT. 10TH
                                           ------------
              ONE OF THE OLDEST LADIES OF THE VILLAGE.  
      LEAVES ONE SON. BURIAL SERVICES AT U. B. CHURCH
                                            -----------
   Mrs. Ella Mathews, who has been ill at the home of Mrs. Richter, who cared for
her, died Friday morning.  
Mrs. Mathews has been in poor health for a long time but has been able to get around
until recently when 
about to set a cup on table she fell and this was the beginning of the end.
   Mrs. Mathews was a member of the U. B. church and lived a Christian and was
dearly beloved by her 
children and grandchildren.
   The funeral was held at the U. B. church, Re. Spafford preached and burial was in
Lakeside cemetery.

                                            OBITUARY
   Ella Scheibly was born in West Salem, Ohio, Dec. 24, 1839 and died Friday morning
Oct. 10, 1924, aged 84 
years, 9 months, 14 days.
   She came to Michigan about 1866 and was united in marriage to Wm. Mathews in
1867.
   To this union were born three children Inez, Adalia and Riley,  Inez and Adalia
preceded her in death.  She is 
survived by her son Riley, two brothers, four grandchildren and two great
grandchildren and a host of friends.
   She has been a Christian for many years and at the time of her death was a member
of the U. B. church of 
Lake Odessa.

   We wish to thank all the friends and neighbors, the minister and singers for
their kindnesses and assistance, 
and for the flowers at the time of the sickness and death of our mother and
grandmother.
