Harriet C. Mathisen, 92, of Sheridan and Portland, passed away on Saturday, 
Nov. 11, 2000.  She was born on June 10, 1908, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter 
of Peter and Ethel (Ewing) Thompson.  

Mrs. Mathisen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Mathisen in 1965.  
Surviving are her daughter, Diane (Chuck) Miller of Portland; two 
grandchildren, Debra (Chris) Gorham of Franklin, Tenn., and Lt. Colonel 
Douglas (Marsha) Miller of Henderson, Nev.; three great grandchildren, 
Nicholas, Ryan and Erin.  

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Scott K. Otis, Pastor, at 
11:30 a.m. today at the Portland United Methodist Church, 310 E. Bridge 
Street, Portland.  Private family interment will take place in North Sidney 
Church Cemetery, Sidney.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be 
made to the Portland United Methodist Church or to the charity of one’s 
choice, in memory of Harriet C. Mathisen. 

Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
