Ronald T. Mathis Sr., aged 61, of Sheridan, passed away Sept. 18, 2008.

He was born Dec. 29, 1946 in Lebron Junction, Ky., the son of Theodore Ronald 
and Hazel (DeVore) Mathis. Ron loved hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and 
karaoke. He was always on the go and never at home. Ronald was a past member of 
Ionia Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his sons Ronald (Jill) Mathis Jr. of Muir, and Markey 
(Jennifer) Mathis of Sheridan; grandchildren Billie Jo, Markey Jr., Cohl, Kara, 
Camara, Ethan, Makenzie, Malori and James; loving companion Sheila Young of 
Sheridan; her children Kristine Johnston of Sheridan, Guy (Brandy) Jeffrey of 
Stanton, Steven (Mandy) Moran of Lakeview and Michael Moran of Grand Rapids; 
grandchildren; Dustin, Kara, Keagan, Jadan, Madison Alana and Natalie; brother, 
Terry Wayne Watters of Kentucky; sister, Glenda (Eddie) Payne of Kentucky; 
special close friends, Charlie Shattuck of Ionia, Jim Lytle of Lyons, Jim and 
Donna Champagne of Ionia, Bill and Wanda Vorce of Grand Rapids and Tim Nummer 
of Ionia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Pastor Phillip Chamberlain officiating. Anyone wishing to, may make
