Ionia Daily Sentinel, 21 Jul 1916

The funeral for Major Hamilton A. Mattison was held this afternoon at 3 o’clock
at the home of his brother, W.H. Mattison on Rich street, Rev. C.E. Hoag of the
Methodist church officiating.  Mrs. R.A. Colwell and Mrs. John Hodgkins, Jr.,
sang.  Three of the bearers, Thane Benedict, W.F. Soule and H. F. Voelker, were
chosen from the Knights Templar, and three from the G.A.R., C.C. Eyster, J.F.
Fowle and Jas. Laden.  After the funeral services the remains were taken to
North Plains cemetery for burial.
