Evelyn S. Mattison, 93, of Belding met her demise on Aug. 21, 2012 at Spectrum 
Health Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenville.

Mrs. Mattison was born on Oct. 8, 1918 in Belding, the daughter of Alvin and 
Marie (McDonald) Shaw. She attended the Cooks Corners School and was a graduate 
of the Belding High School with the Class of 1937.

On Oct. 19, 19412 she married Robert F. Mattison. He was laid to rest on Jan. 
25, 1974.

She was a long-time employee of the Gibson Refrigerator Company (Electrolux 
Home Products, Inc.) and departed the firm in January 1985. Retirement was 
especially enjoyable as much time was spent in traveling the world, making caps 
and mittens for the needy children and guiding adults and young people by 
tutoring in literacy. 

At Ms. Mattison's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

She has already been placed beside her husband in the Rest Haven Memorial 
Gardens, which was a piece of land once owned by her family. Mrs. Mattison's 
parents and her husband's parents are all buried adjacent to one another in 
this memorial park.

Funeral care was entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
