The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, June 20, 1945

Lester Mattocks, 82, died at 4 o’clock Wednesday morning in the Ionia County 
Memorial hospital.  Mr. Mattocks had been employed on the Woodcote Stock farm 
for the past forty years.  

Surviving Mr. Mattocks is one stepson, Delbert Smeling, North Jefferson 
street; sisters, Mrs. Fred Marquette, and Mrs. William Wiesmer of Durand, Mrs. 
Ellen Peterson of Ionia, Mrs. Emma Scott of Creve Coeur, Mississippi, and one 
brother Harry Mattocks of Lansing.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Bradley 
funeral home.  The Rev. Paul Stewart will officiate and interment will be in 
Easton cemetery.
