Portland Editor Loses Wife Monday

Death Follows Illness of One Week.  Interested in Church and Literary Work. 
Funeral Thursday.

After a week’s illness, preceded by months of poor health, Mrs. Fred Mauren,
Sr., passed away Monday.  Mrs. Mauren was 63 years of age and was of a domestic
nature but included in her interests work in the Congregational church and the
Woman’s Literary society, both organizations of which she was a member.  She was
a director of the Carnegie library.  

Mrs. Mauren was born in Danby township and had been a resident of Ionia county
all her life.  The funeral will be held at the home Thursday afternoon and
burial will be at Portland.
