The young man had been talking with those near his bedside only a few moments before he breathed his last. Mr. May had apparently been in good health until two weeks preceding his death, although he complained of feeling fatigued at times. From the moment he was taken to the bed he grew steadily worse, and no hope had been entertained for his recovery for several days. The young man is survived by his bereaved parents, with whom he had always resided, and the following brothers and sisters: Albert, Frank, Mathias, Charles May, Mrs. Olney McCausey and Mrs. Alton Barnes, of Westphalia township; Mrs. Jacob Yerge, Mrs. Frank Phillips and Mrs. Frank Fineis, of Portland; Edward and Joseph May of Lansing. The funeral, which was held Monday morning form St. Patrick’s church, in Portland, was largely attended. The services were in charge of Rev. Fr. Koetzer, pastor of the church, and interment was made in Portland cemetery.
