Arthur Edmund “Art” May, 74, of Lyons, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999.  Born Feb. 3,
1925 in Portland, Mr. May retired from Oldsmobile after 30 years of service.  

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Marcus.  Surviving are his
wife of 55 years, Thelma; two sons, Terry (Nikki) of Lyons and Jim of Muir; five
grandchildren, Trennon (Jeri), Tayvon and Tianna, all of Lyons, Bill and Mike of
Muir; three sisters, Martha (Glen) Limberg of Grand Ledge, Justina Thalison and
Donna Hall, both of Ionia; three sisters-in-law, Katherine May and Esther
Priest, both of Ionia, and Ruth Patterson of Perrington; brother-in-law, Fred
Robinson of Lansing; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman
Co. Neller Chapel, 210 Bridge St., Portland with the Rev. Scott K. Otis, Pastor
of Portland United Methodist Church, officiating.  
The family will receive friends at the chapel tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. 
Those desiring may make contributions to the Ionia county Commission on Aging in
memory of Mr. May.
