The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Thelma Irene May, aged 81, of Lyons passed away June 27, 2009 at her home. She 
was born May 6, 1928 in Lyons, MI the daughter of Thomas and Alta Sattler.

She married Arthur May December 23, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Thelma was a member of Lyons-Muir Church. She worked for several years as a 
beautician where she owned her own Salon.

She is survived by her sons Terry (Nikki) May of Lyons and Jim May of Muir.
Grandchildren: Trennon (Jeri) May of Ionia, Wilbur Joseph (Angela) May of 
Ionia, Tayvon (Jennifer) May of Grand Rapids, Michael Thomas May of Ionia and 
Tianna Shantel May of Byron Center. 2 Great Grandchildren Ashlyn and Zoe May.  
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters. 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons-Muir Church 
with Pastor Scott Otis officiating. Interment Lyons Cemetery. Visitation will 
be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Lake Funeral Home in Muir. Anyone wishing 
may make memorial contributions to Lyons-Muir Church.
