Portland Observer – Wednesday, 17 October 1894
Julia, wife of Chas. May, died at her home in this village on Wednesday of 
last week, after a protracted illness, aged 48 years.  Deceased had resided in 
Portland but a short time.  The funeral services were conducted from her late 
residence on Friday last and the remains taken to Eagle and interred in the 
Doty cemetery.  Rev. Goodell, of the Universalist church, conducted the 
services.
