Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church & volunteer for Faith Formation classes. Employed at U.S. Postal Service fo 38 years, mostly as rural carrier. Member of Fourth Degree Fr. Godez Assembly of the Knight os Columbus serving as Fourth degree Marshall, Past Grand Knight of Portland Council #2168 and served as District Deputy and Treasurer. Phil was involved with Big brother/Big Sister program,& Portland youth Baseball. He served on the Danby Township board of Review. Preceded in death by sister-in-law, Carol Schrauben & Dorothy May. Survived by wife Heidi (Sandborn) of 14 years; 3 children, parents, four siblings, In-laws, nieces, nephews & cousins. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Danby Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. followed by a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Chalice Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Phil's children, where a college fund is being established.
