She was born on November 15, 1923 in Lyons, MI the daughter of Floyd and Bessie (Lowry) Keefer. Mrs. May was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, an original member of the Fr. Flohe Fund planning council, the Altar Society, and of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #4090. Marcie retired in 1984 from the Michigan Department of Transportation, after 25 years of service. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, was an avid card player, enjoyed needlepoint, and she had a dry sense of humor, passing it on to her children. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Gerald and Bud Keefer. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Donald; children, Sharon (Bernard) Platte of Pentwater, James (Patty) May of Dale, TX, Kenneth (Deb Tomasek) May of Portland, and Daniel (Lori) May of Portland ; grandchildren, Eric, Marc, Alan, Susan, Dawn, David, Karah, Sheena, Chelsea, and Kevin; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Albert Wayne (Betty) Keefer; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Charlene Keefer. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation, or St. Patrick Church, in memory of Marcie.
