Portland Observer, 30 Mar 1922

The death of Mrs. Agatha May, widow of the late Rhinehart May, occurred at the
family home, four miles east of town, last Saturday, following an illness of a
number of years.

Mrs. May was born in Alsace-Lorraine in 1854 and came to New York when 24 years
of age.  She later went to Buffalo where she was married to Mr. May.  The couple
came to this vicinity 13 years ago and settled on the farm east of Portland
where they resided during the remainder of their lifetime.  One daughter and
three sons survive.  They are Mrs. Alta Barnes, Frank, Mathias and Albert May.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick’s church, Tuesday forenoon, in charge
of Rev. F. Griffin.  Interment took place in the Portland cemetery.
