The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, January 19, 1968

Elvie Mayes, 64, better known as Buddie, of Pewamo died Wednesday evening at 
Ionia County Memorial hospital.

Surviving are his wife Viva; three daughters, Mrs. James Hanson of Belding; 
Mrs. Francis Newton of Freeport; Mrs. Cecile Goshenour, of Gratton; nine 
grandchildren, one great grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Summers of 
Daytona Beach, Fla., Mrs. Queenie Smith of Holt, Mrs. Mildred McClanahan of 
Franklin, Ky.; four brothers, Franklin of Franklin, Ky., E.K. and Joseph of 
Indianapolis, Ind., and Harold of San Antonio, Texas; a step mother, Mrs. 
Mattie Mayes of Franklin, Ky.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roth funeral home in Lowell 
with Rev. Keith McIver officiating.  Burial will be in Springport cemetery.
