The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, December 11, 1925

The funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Maynard, aged 67, were held from the 
former farm home in Vestaburg, now occupied by her son, Friday.

Mrs. Maynard had lived in Ionia the past 10 years, having come to Ionia after 
the death of her husband.  A few weeks ago she went to the home of her 
daughter who lives near Romeo, where she stayed, going back and forth to Ann 
Arbor to take treatments for an organic trouble.  Her condition was greatly 
improved, and she was getting ready to come home.  On the day she was planning 
to depart she was taken ill with pneumonia and died.

She is survived by five children, Ola, whom she was with when death overtook 
her; Mrs. Frank Dyke and Orman Maynard, of Ionia; Ora and Olney Maynard of 
Lyons, and Oscar Maynard, who lives on the old homestead.
