Lyons Herald, 15 Jan 1920

Death claimed two members of the Toan family last Saturday – Mrs. Derna Maynard 
died of pneumonia at her home near Portland; while Robt. O. Toan died of the same 
disease at his home in Jackson.  A double funeral was held from the Maynard home 
near Portland and burial made in the Portland cemetery.  They are survived by one 
sister, Miss Mayme Toan, of Oklahoma City; and two brothers, Dr. John Toan of 
Howell and Wm. Toan of Portland.
