Maynard arrived here Thursday evening and were taken directly to the Bradley mortuary. The remains were accompanied here by Sergt. Kemmis. The funeral service was held this morning at the church in Shiloh, Rev. C.C. Buckner officiating. The singing was by Mrs. Eugene Smith and Mrs. Claude Hathaway. The pall bearers were Fred Font, Chas. Crane, Ernie Allen and Sidney Maynard. Interment was in Shanty Plains cemetery. ---- The home of Sergt. Kemmis, who brought the remains of Private James Maynard here for burial from Iowa, is at Mt. Pleasant, and as he has been away from home a year, his parents took advantage of his proximity to come to Ionia to see him.
