McAlary, 72, formerly of 240 Lafayette St., died Tuesday morning in Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McAlary was born on Jan. 16, 1908, in Dyersburg, Tenn., the daughter of James and Sothronia Day Bloomer. She married James P. McAlary on Nov. 29, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa. Mrs. McAlary served in the Nurses Corps of the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II, and was discharged in 1946. She and her husband spent their entire married life in Chicago before moving to Ionia in April 1978. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1979. Survivors include one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leo McAlary of Ionia, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in SS. Peter and Paul Church in Ionia. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Myers-Roetman Funeral Home, and burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Additional Comments: Age: 72 Service: Wednesday, 23 January 1980 Mt.
