The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Wednesday, February 11, 1914
Mrs. Alex McAlary died suddenly this morning at about 7 o’clock at her home on 
Mill street from heart trouble.  She has suffered from the trouble for some 
time and while death has been expected at any time it was not looked for when 
it came.  She had been feeling better Tuesday and felt well this morning.  It 
was shortly after breakfast when she was stricken, dying in a few minutes.

Besides her husband she leaves three children, Mae, Leo and James.  She was 44 
years of age and had been a resident of Ionia for a number of years.  The 
funeral will be attended from the Catholic church Friday morning at 9 o’clock.
