Delbert J. McArthur, 89, of 1337 Musgrove Highway, Lake Odessa, died June 27 at
Pennock Hospital, Hastings.  He was born Sept. 10, 1897, in Sebewa Township, the
son of Harlan and Mary Brock McArthur.  He was married to Itha Grant Dec. 1,
1920; she preceded him in death in January 1987.

He lived in the Lake Odessa and Woodbury area most of his life, operating a farm
until 1946 when he was employed by E.W. Bliss Manufacturing Co., Hastings.  He
retired in 1961.  He attended Woodbury United Brethren Church.

Surviving are two sons, Richard of Wellston, Mich., and Duane of Lake Odessa; 11
grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.  A son, Robert, two brothers, Melvin
and Cletus, and a sister, Delilah, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake
Odessa, with the Rev. Edgar Perkins and the Rev. Duane Walter officiating. 
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the
Lake Odessa Ambulance, or the charity of choice, in care of the funeral chapel.
 The family will be at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
