John T. McBride, age 77, of Ionia, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005.

He was born May 29, 1927 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of Eugene and Beulah 
(German) McBride.  Mr. McBride graduated from the University of Michigan in 
1950 and retired from the Chrysler corporation.  He was a member of the Knights 
of Columbus Ionia Chapter #944, worked many years on the election board and was 
an avid reader.

John married Harriet Mayhew on June 17, 1950 at St. Mary’s Student Chapel in 
Ann Arbor.  She preceded him in death.  Also preceding him in death were his 
daughter-in-law, Penny McBride; and sister Joan Goldie.

Surviving are his sons, Steve McBride of Portland, Kevin (Jan) McBride of 
Kentwood, Paul (Gabe) McBride of Rochester, Mich., and James (Sharon) McBride 
of Greenville; daughter, Carol (Kevin) Clancey of Carmel, Ind.; grandchildren, 
Bridget and Meg McBride, Jan (Susan), Lindsey and Drew McBride, Sean and 
Maureen McBride, Katherine and Alana Clancey; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at SS. 
Peter and Paul Church in Ionia by Rev. Melvin Fox.  Rite of Committal will take 
place in the spring at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive 
friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the service on Wednesday.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home in Ionia.  For 
those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis 
Foundation in memory of Mr. John McBride.
