The remains will be brought to Ionia for interment. ------------ The remains of Francis E. McCanney arrived in Ionia at 11:23 this morning, accompanied by the brother James, who went to Hoxie, Ark., to bring them here for interment. The body of the dead soldier-boy was at once taken to the family home. The funeral will be attended on Monday morning at 9 o’clock, from the church of SS Peter and Paul. ------------ Burial of Francis McCanney. Funeral services for Francis D. McCanney were conducted this morning, at the church of SS Peter and Paul, which was well filled by friends of the family. Mass and the funeral discourse were by Fr. W.J. Fierle, and the choir music was noticeably good. Deceased was a member of a Texas regiment in the Spanish-American war, and was discharged only a few brief weeks ago, when he left Cuba for the states, and fell ill while en route. There were present at the funeral this morning a complementary representation from the ranks of Wm. H. Borden post of the G.A.R., and also from the Co. I., 34th Mich., from which last named body the bearers were taken, viz.: George Fenderson, Perry Cummings, Ernest Ross, Claude Lane, Rollin Collier, Ira Hopkins.
