The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, January 16, 1962

Charles G. McCarry, 87, 439 Taylor court, died at 11 o’clock Monday morning at 
Roselawn Nursing home in Lansing.  He had been a patient there the past two 
months.

He was born in Hastings, Ont., June 2, 1874 and had spent most of his life in 
Ionia.  He was married October 24, 1925 in Ionia to Ella Rittenburgh Peck and 
had lived the past 36 years at the present home.

Mr. McCarry was employed as custodian at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company 
until his retirement, and was a member of First Methodist church of Ionia.  He 
is survived by his wife, Ella; one son, Lee McCarry of Lansing; one daughter, 
Mrs. Gaile Guggenbuhl of Bronxville, N.Y.; one grandchild; two stepdaughters, 
Mrs. Cassie Dick of DeWitt, and Mrs. Esther Knooz of Lansing, and three step-
grandchildren.

Funeral will be at Boynton funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. 
Harold A. Jayne of First Methodist church officiating.  Interment will be at 
Highland Park cemetery.
