Thomas McCarthy died at the Eckert’s nursing home Monday morning.

Mr. McCarthy was born at Hubbardston, February 14, 1879 the son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Michael McCarthy.  He had resided in Ionia since 1937.  A sister, Mrs. Margaret 
Grace died two weeks ago.  He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church.

He is survived by one brother, William, of Grand Rapids.

The body is at Myers funeral home and funeral arrangements have not been 
completed.

Funeral services for Thomas M. McCarthey were conducted Wednesday morning at 11 
o’clock at the Myers funeral home.  The Rev. Fr. James Hoogterp officiated and 
interment was at Balcom cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ray Eckert, Andrew Cupon, John Barnard and Jake Englebert.
