The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 15, 1923

Mrs. Hattie McCarthy, who has been seriously ill for the past two weeks, 
passed away at her home here Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.  The cause of 
death was given as a complication of diseases.  She had been in poor health 
for some time but only critically ill for the past two weeks.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by two sons, Carl McCarthy, at home and William 
McCarthy, of Grand Rapids, and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Grace, of Ionia.  
Mrs. Julia Riley of Hubbardston and Mrs. M. Fitzgerald, of Ionia, are sisters-
in-law.

The funeral will be held form the St. John’s church in Hubbardston Tuesday 
morning at 9 o’clock.
