Ionia County News, 3 Jan 1952

Mrs. Lovena M. McCarthy, 51, 523 State St., died at 6:30 Friday morning, Dec. 
28, in the Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She was removed to the hospital 
following a heart attack suffered Christmas morning.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Eiseler, she was born in St. Johns, March 
26, 1900.  She was married to Frank McCarthy Sept. 18, 1924, and they lived in 
Carson City and Lansing before coming to Ionia in 1930.  She was a member of 
SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; a son, Francis, Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. 
Herman Smith of St. Johns and Mrs. Charles Jeffreys of Lansing; two brothers, 
William and John Eiseler, of Lansing.

Funeral service was from SS. Peter and Paul Church Monday morning.  Father John 
S. Fons offered the requiem mass and burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  
Bearers were Tim Sullivan, Newell Dancer, Bert Hackett, Mike Egan, Joseph Grace 
and Leonard Miller.
