Funeral services for Thomas McCarthy, 67, were held from St. John church Tuesday morning at 9:30. Interment was made in St. John cemetery. Mr. McCarthy was a member of the Catholic Church at Carson City, but funeral services were held here, as his wife is buried in the local cemetery. Mr. McCarthy was an esteemed resident of this community. Rev. McCormick sang the Requiem Mass. Two sons, Frank, of Ionia, and Thomas, are left. The daughters are Mrs. Vernon Grace, of Carson City, Mrs. Edward Fitzpatrick, of Hubbardston, and Mrs. Eisler, of St. Johns. Out of the five McCarthy brothers only Will McCarthy survives. There are six sisters, Mrs. Mary Kissane, of Detroit; Mrs. Nell McGill, of Big Rapids; Mrs. Anna Meehan, of St. Johns, and Mesdames Rose Burns, Stacia Keary and Julia Riley, of Hubbardston. The men acting as pallbearers were Martin Dwyer, Martin Grace, Dick Needham, Jerry Dwyer, Bill Grace and Charles Dick.
