Excerpts from Obituary:
BRAIN LAIRD MCCARTY of Belding 
Died March 11, 2019-age 68.
Born May 6, 1950 in Kalamazoo Hosp to Reid & Ardis McCarty.
Attended Portage Northern High School & R.E.T.S. Electronic School after 
graduation.
Volunteered for Vietnam draft in 1968, attaining  rank of E5 while stationed 
in Germany. 
Worked at GTECH as an equipment installer & with AES as installer.
On the Board of Belding Sportman Club, well know on Big Pine Island, ice-
fishing, hunting, organizing youth fishing tournaments.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry and dear friend Tanetta 
Burdick.
Survived by wife, Suzanne & stepson John Bonning, siblings Alan (Diane) 
McCarty, Susan (Chuck) Morgenstern, nieces & nephews, grand nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.
