Francis Leo McCaul, 76, of Front street, Clarksville, known as Pat, died at his 
home Thursday morning.  Coroner Dale Kauffman ruled death due to self inflicted 
gunshot wounds and said he was reported to be despondent due to ill health.

Born in Ada, November 28, 1893, he was the son of Anthony and Frances Gardner 
McCaul.  Married to Ila Headworth July 3, 1915, who survives as do a daughter, 
Mrs. Irwin McCullough of Plainwell; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Glen 
Layer and Mrs. Francis Shaffer of Alto and Mrs. Grace Grosello of Albuquerque, 
N.M.; brother, Edwyn of Clarksville.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Clarksville Bible church.  
Rev. Fr. Kurt Fish of Plainwell will officiate and interment will be at South 
Boston cemetery.
