Joan was born in Saranac, on July 27, 1936, to Arthur and Lucile (Harey) Pinckney.She graduated from Saranac High School in 1954 and was united to Gordon McCaul on July 3, 1954. They lived near Ft.Knox, Ky, after they were married while Gordon served in the Army. Following his discharge, they returned to Michigan and had lived in the Clarksville area since; must recently in their home overlooking Peddler Lake. Joan loved reading and learning.She had enjoyed music and playing the piano, and had enjoyed dancing throughout her years.Her special love was always for her family. Joan is survived by Gordon McCaul, her loving husband of 55 years; children, Julie (Jim) Blough, Tammy (Jim) Thomas, Gordie McCaul, Lisa (Karl) Morris, Lucile (Brian) Humphrey, and Matthew (Coreen) McCaul; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters; Judy Tower and Audrey Hollandsworth; and the extended McCaul family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Lee McCaul; and sister, Janet Cahoon. Visitation will be held at the McCaul's home (10525 Midway Road, Clarksville, MI 48815) from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, at the Calvary Grace Brethren Church (13700 84th St.SE, Alto, MI 49302). urial will follow in Clarksville Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons, or to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for MDS research (Myelodysplastic Syndrome).
