James D. McCliggott, Sr., 59, of Portland died Feb. 18, 2005 at Hospice House 
of Mid-Michigan in Lansing.  Mr. McCliggott was born in Lansing Oct. 1, 1945 a 
son of Dale and “Jerry” (Musson) McCliggott.  He was a 1963 graduate of 
Portland High School, served in the Air Force and was a General Motors 
employee.

Surviving are his wife, “Rusty”; children, Linda (Jim) Fox of Portland, Laura 
(Shawn) Hedger of Greenville, James (Angel) McCliggott, Jr. of Lyons, and 
LeaAnn McCliggott of Lansing; seven grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Hiar of 
Sunfield, Nancy (Robert) Driscoll of Morrice, and Pam (Yogi) Westervelt of 
Perry; brother, John (Alice) McCliggott of Nashville; aunt, Edna Diehl of 
Grand Blanc; uncle, Francis McCliggott of Pinconning; several nieces, nephews 
and cousins and special friend, “Teddy Bear.”

Services were held Feb. 21 at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Pastor 
Don Woolum officiating.  Cremation followed the service.  Contributions may be 
made to Sparrow Regional Cancer Center, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI  48909-
9986.
