Born January 18, 1890, in Texas, she was the daughter of Charles and Mandie Powers Knight. Her husband, John, died in 1964. She was a member of the Nazarene Church and its missionary society. Surviving are: five sons – Alfred Elrod of Lansing, Thomas McClung of Clawson, David McClung, state senator from Honolulu, Hawaii, John and Frank McClung, both of Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Coridan of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Wanda Kramer of Pewamo and Mrs. Betty Butler of Lyons; 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and three sisters – Mrs. Donna Furin of Mason, Mrs. Clohe Taylor of Pine View, Texas, and Mrs. Gladys Sheldon of Battle Creek. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday from the Neller funeral home with the Rev. George C. Otto officiating. Burial is in Portland cemetery. Bearers will be George Hudson, James Engles, Michael Clement, Edward Bond, Gerald Smith and Clayton Riley.
