D. McConnell, at Bradley’s undertaking rooms, Wednesday, was attended by 24 members of the Jordan post, M. M. Currier acting as post commander, in absence of Commander Fowle; by a good representation of the W.R.C., and by a few old time friends. Rev. E. E. Branch made remarks, eulogistic of the old soldiers, and emphasizing the point that busy people as a whole are inclined to forget the debt of gratitude due their sacrifices, through which we are now able to enjoy the benefits of a united nation. He read a selection of scripture and offered an appropriate prayer. The ritual service by the post followed. The singing through the service was by Mrs. E. Smith and Mrs. H. E. Spencer. The bearers were Comrades N. L. Brookins, A. Willard, W. A. Woods and A. J. Cook, who accompanied the remains to Saranac, the place of interment. The two daughters and their husbands were present: Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Rhoades of Barryton, and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bosch of Ionia. Aaron D.
