Ionia Sentinel Standard, 8 Dec 1986

Blanche E. McCord, 87, of 3836 Potter’s Road, Ionia, died at Ionia County
Memorial Hospital Dec. 7.  Born in Oakfield Township July 20, 1899, she was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Rowland.  She was married to Robert M. McCord
June 7, 1920, in Ionia.  They lived their entire married life in the Ionia area.
 Her husband died in 1966.  She was a member of the Easton United Methodist
Church and the women’s society of the church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) Goddier of Locust Grove, Va.,
and Mrs. Robert (Doris) Montgomery of Ionia; two sons, Eldon R. McCord and
Richard B. McCord, both of Ionia; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. A.C. (Arletta) Kleynenberg of Grand Rapids and Mrs. George (Naomi)
Smith of Waldwick, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.  Also preceding her in
death was a son, Royce, and two brothers, Clare and Carl Roland.

Funeral services will be held from the Easton United Methodist Church Wednesday
at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kay Williams officiating.  The family will be at the
Rich Street Chapel of Montgomery Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to
8:30 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army, in care of
the funeral home.
