Ionia Daily Sentinel, 28 Jan 1929

The funeral services for John McCord, 88, who died Sunday will be held from the
Stebbins funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and the burial will be in
Easton cemetery.  Rev. Herbert G. Hurrell will be in charge.  Mr. McCord was a
native of Virginia but he was active in the earlier history of Michigan.  The
little station, McCord, in Kent county, was on his land, and bore his name.  He
leaves the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Earl Curtiss, of Easton; Charles
McCord, of Evart; William McCord of Battle Creek; Gilbert McCord, of Flint, and
Joseph McCord, of Ionia.
