Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 16 Feb 1954

Mrs. Nellie McCord, 83, died in Traverse City February 15.  She had been in ill
health for the past two years.  She was born April 16, 1871, the youngest of
eleven children, of Aaron W. and Betsy Jane Russell, in Keene township.  In 1896
she was married to Merritt McCord and they lived in the old homestead in Keene
township for 36 years prior to moving to Easton township where she had lived for
the past 22 years.

Mr. McCord preceded her in death on November 12, 1951.  She is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Delbert Swain of Route 3, four grandchildren, one
great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Boynton funeral home Thursday, at
1:30 p.m.  The Rev. Heath Goodwin will officiate.  Interment will be in the
family lot in Easton cemetery.
