Dec. 5, 2018 PAULINE McCORD, 91 Pauline "Penny" June McCord age 91 of Ionia, MI. passed away December 2, 2018. She was born on April 16, 1927 in Saginaw, MI. the daughter of William and Lula (Beckwith) Shores. Penny moved to Belding, Mi. with her parents when she was a teenager. There she met Harold McCord and they were married on December 21, 1946. At the age of 20 Penny became the mother of twin boys. the family continued to live in Belding for 7 more years before moving to the family farm in Ionia. At age 30 Penny became the mother of her 3rd boy. After their marriage of 68 years, Harold passed away July 13, 2014. Penny loved going to church and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lowell. She also loved going to dinner and spending time with her family and friends. Although preceded in death by many friends, she was always making "new" friends right up to the time of her passing. She was enjoyed by all who got to know her. Penny took great pride in keeping a fine home. For many, many years she prepared wonderful meals daily for her husband and family. And you better be on time! Penny will always be remembered as a strong, generous ,kind, and loving lady. Surviving are her son Gary McCord of Ionia, Mi. grandchildren Barbara (Dave) Bowers, Saddy McCord, John McCord, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, sons James and Jack McCord. Services will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lowell on Friday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Joseph Fremer officiating . Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Lake funeral Home in Saranac. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
