Robert McCoy, age 81, of Ionia passed away Saturday, October 16, 2004.  He was 
born July 11, 1923, the son of Robert and Grace (Rowley) McCoy.  He married 
Helen Tabor in 1943.

Robert was a corrections officer for 30 years and worked at Yeomans Dairy for 
11 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Helen of Ionia, son Carl 
(Virginia) McCoy of Grosse Pointe Woods, daughters-in-laws Marcia (Dan) McCoy 
of Ionia, and Donna (Jim) McCoy of Barryton; grandchildren Dan (Michelle) McCoy 
and Marc (Tamara) McCoy; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kylie.  He was 
preceded in death by son Dan in 1994 and son Jim in 2000.

Funeral services for Robert are Wed., Oct. 20, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Lincoln 
Avenue Baptist Church, where Bob was a big part in the work, with Pastor Darren 
Tharp officiating.  Internment Easton Cemetery.  The family will receive 
friends and relatives form 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at 
Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to 
the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church or the Ionia Area Hospice.
