Portland Observer, 12 Jul 1882

The diphtheria is making terrible havoc about three miles west of this place near 
the town line between Danby and Eagle.  E. H. McCrumb lost two children last 
Saturday and the third one is not expected to recover.  Walter McCrumb lost a 
little girl yesterday and others of the family are sick.
