McCrumb, known throughout this entire section as “Hub,” died last Monday at his home between Portland and Eagle after being sick with pneumonia only a few days. The news of his death came as a great shock to the young man’s host of friends here, where he has been known all his life. Mr. McCrumb was only thirty-six years old. He was born in Danby and has lived in the same vicinity all his life. He was married to Lillie J. Pennington in 1895 and six children were born to them. Five of the little ones are left with the widow. He also leaves four brothers and a sister. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Haywood. “Hub” McCrumb was a genial, wholesouled man. Everybody who knew him was his friend and his sudden death in the prime of life has caused much sorrow. Card of Thanks: We wish to express our appreciation to all our friends for their assistance during the hours of our deepest sorrow when our husband and father was taken away. We would also remember those who sent the floral offerings and the acts of kindness of the various societies and the pastor.
