Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Sep 1981

Elizabeth Ann McDaniel, 46, of 278 Bristie Street, Portland, died Monday at her
home after a long illness.  She was born in Holdenville, Okla., on Feb 16, 1935,
the daughter of Dr. Alvin L. McDaniel and Gertrude McDowell, moving to Portland
when she was six months old.

She graduated from Portland High School and received her bachelor’s and master’s
degree from Western Michigan University.  She taught in the Lakewood School
System for two years and the Lakeview School System in Battle Creek for ten years.

She is survived by her mother, Gertrude McDaniel, and one brother, Dr. W.L.
McDaniel of Chicago, Ill.  Her father, Dr. A.L. McDaniel, preceded her in death
one year ago.

Services will be held Thursday, October 1 at 2 p.m. at the Neller Funeral Home
in Portland with Pastor Dow Chamberlain officiating and Pastor Ronald Sparks and
Rev. Thomas Thompson assisting.  Burial will be in Portland Cemetery. 
Pallbearers will be Alan Greene, Robert Peabody, Walter Johnson, Elim Herzog,
Anthony Spitzley and Clyde Ellison.
