Local Citizen Succumbs in California

Walter E. McDaniels, age 76, of Lake Odessa, passed away Thursday at Riverside, 
California. He was born May 13, 1901 in Southern Indiana and attended Talbott, 
Indiana Schools.

He married Edith Bollinger in Lansing in 1925. Mr McDaniels lived in Lansing 
from 1924 to 1970 when he moved to Lake Odessa. He worked for Federal Drop Forge 
of Lansing for 20 years; also 19 years at Motor Wheel in Lansing.

McDaniels is survived by his wife, Edith; three sons, Eugene and Richard of 
Lansing and Roger of Riverside, California; three daughters, Mrs.Arthur 
(Barbara) Giffen of Lansing, Mrs.Dale (Mildred) Jennings of Riverside, 
California and Mrs.Dave (Karen) Brace of Sunfield; two brothers, Lawrence of 
St.Clair Shores, William of Lansing; one sister, Mrs.Lawrence (Ellen) Mangue of 
Gowen; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m., Pickens-Koops funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa 
with Rev. Ralph Tingley of the Maple Grove Baptist Church of Lansing 
officiating. Burial was a Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing.
