The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, August 9, 1935

Funeral services were held for Edward McDermott, who died suddenly in his 
rooms here Sunday afternoon.  Burial was at St. Mary’s cemetery, Adrian.  The 
body was accompanied to Adrian by Mrs. McDemott and her daughter, Mrs. Louis 
Gazella.  Bearers were six of his nephews.

Mr. McDermott was 59 years of age and Adrian had been his home.  For some time 
he had resided in Grand Rapids and Ionia where he followed his calling of 
painter and decorator.  

He leaves his widow, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Bowen, of Adrian, and Mrs. Thomas 
Owens, of Toledo, and four step children.
