Dale McDiarmid, 79, of Lake Odessa died Saturday at Provincial House, 
Hastings.  Born May 18, 1907, in Odessa Township, he was the son of Elias and 
Rosa Shellenbarger McDiarmid.  He attended Bretz rural school.

He was married to Margaret Proctor May 19, 1941.  Until 1946, when he began 
farming in the Sunfield area, he was employed at Grand Ledge Tile Products.  
He retired from farming in 1960 and moved to Lake Odessa.

Surviving are his wife Margaret; a daughter, Audrey McDiarmid of Kalamazoo; a 
step-daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Barbara) Peacock of Lake Odessa; two grandchildren 
and one great grandchild; a sister, Angeline Godfrey of Grand Ledge and a 
brother, Niles McDiarmid, also of Grand Ledge.  Three brothers, Voight, Harold 
and Hale, and one sister, Lucrettia, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel in 
Lake Odessa.  Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken.  The family 
will be at the funeral home Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
