Mrs. Winnifred D. McFaden, 96, of Ionia, passed away Saturday, June 19, 1999, at
the Brookhaven Nursing Home in Muskegon.

Mrs. McFaden was born Jan. 9, 1903, in Archibold, Ohio, the daughter of Herbert
and Helen (Scott) Kent.  She came to Ionia as a young girl and attended Ionia
area schools.  She graduated from high school in Kansas City, Kan.

She was married to Charles McFaden in 1923, and he preceded her in death in
1983.  Winnifred retired from the Ionia Reformatory after over 30 years of service.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ionia, where she served many
years as church secretary.  She was an active life member of the Ionia Eastern
Stars, where she was past matron, secretary and treasurer.

Mrs. McFaden is survived by one son, Kent (Molly) McFaden of Muskegon; five
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. McFaden will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First
Baptist Church, Ionia, with the Rev. James Bennett officiating.  Interment will
be in Balcom Cemetery.  Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, Ionia.  Memorial
envelopes may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ionia.
