Stanley R. McGee, 77, of rural Ionia, died early Thursday morning at Grand 
Rapids Osteopathic Hospital.  He was born in Grand Rapids on December 18, 
1906, the son of William and Myrtle Greenhoe McGee. 

He graduated from Ionia High School and graduated from General Motors 
Institute of Technology in 1931, majoring in engineering.  He worked for 
Chevrolet Division at General Motors in Flint until entering the service 
during World War II.  He served in the Army Air Force as a radar technician in 
the European theatre of operations.  He was discharged in 1945 and started 
work as a sales representative for Premier Industries Corporation in 
Cleveland, Ohio, an automotive parts cooperation.  He worked in the northern 
half of the lower peninsula of Michigan.  He retired in 1967.

He married Reva Mason on October 12, 1962, in Ionia and they made their home 
here since that time.  For the past 17 years they spent their winters in 
Harlingen, Texas.  He attended the Ionia Church of Christ as a young man.  He 
was a member of  the Ionia Moose Lodge No. 998.

Surviving are his wife Reva; one brother, Gordon of Reddings, Calif.; one 
sister-in-law, Doralee McGee of Ionia; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Manley 
Greenhoe of Sheridan.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home 
with the Rev. F. Michael Valentine of the First Christian Church officiating.  
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.  A memorial has been 
established for the Michigan Heart Association.  Contributions may be left at 
the funeral home.  The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 
p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for Stanley R. McGee, 77, of Ionia who died last Thursday 
were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. F. 
Michael Valentine of Ionia First Christian Church officiating. 

Pallbearers were Russell McKellips, Greg Sherman, Emmett Cecil, Byran Flynn, 
Dayton Decker and Phil Mason.  Members of the Ionia Moose Lodge formed an 
honor guard at the burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.  Following 
graveside services lunch was served to family and friends at the Ionia Moose 
Lodge.
