D. McGillivray died at his home in Pine Village, Thursday, May 11. He was born in Muir in 1875 and graduated from the village school when he was 18. Later he taught school in Muir and at Frost’s Corners, south of Portland. He also attended Poucher’s Business College in Ionia. For three years Dr. McGillivray studied medicine in the University of Michigan and finished his medical course at the Chicago University. During the World war he was a member of the reserve Officers Medical Corps and was in charge of a hospital at Camp Merrit, New Jersey. In 1912 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jones who with their son and daughter survives. The sun, Duffield, is a student at Purdue University and the daughter, Esma, at home. Dr. McGillivray was a member of the Christian church and the Masonic lodge.
