She had been ill for a short time and had been returned to her home from the Ionia County Memorial hospital the day of her death. She was born May 11, 1865, in New York, a daughter of John and anna McGinn and moved with her parents and family to Michigan when she was a small child. Miss McGinn attended St. John the Baptist school and started teaching at the age of 17 at the County Line school near Hubbardston. She completed 50 years of teaching at the age of 67 and at that age retired. Surviving are a sister Anna at home and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, James and John, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Scott. Rosary will be recited Wednesday and Thursday at the residence at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist church with the Rev. Fr. Eugene Fox officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist cemetery. Bearers will be: Ray Gowman, Sherman Roach, Clifford O'Grady, Ford Newman, John Burns and James McKeone, all of Hubbardston.
